Skills4Auto has developed the Collaborative Apprenticeship Programme to ensure that whatever the size and resources of the employer organisation, the quality of the apprenticeships they provide is of the highest automotive industry standard.
Following induction at the employer’s premises, a wage subsidy is provided and the apprentice embarks on up to 38 weeks of off-the-job training in the first year. A series of other training options and added value units is then discussed and agreed.
Designed to provide the skill set found within large vehicle manufacturers, the programme is delivered at three training locations and utilises a pull type driven system where apprenticeship is delivered together with a common mentoring and action planning process.
The Skills4Auto service includes a full consultative process that helps match appropriate learners with apprentice-seeking employers.
The ultimate aim of the programme is to provide world-class industry skills to the automotive workforce of the future from its first day of employment.
